Privacy and your data
Download or delete your data
Back up your collection, export a spreadsheet, move your data elsewhere, or delete your account for good.
Your collection belongs to you. You can take a full copy whenever you like, in formats other tools can read, and you can delete your account and everything in it yourself, without asking anyone.
Three ways to take a copy
| What | Where | Format | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Backup | The download button at the top of the app, or More → Download a backup on a phone | JSON (card-vault-backup-<date>.json) | Your cards, wish list and settings. Restore it with the upload button, or More → Restore from a backup. |
| Spreadsheet | Collection → Export CSV | CSV, opens in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets | The cards in the current view, with player, year, set, number, parallel, team, grade, quantity, what you paid, current value, gain or loss and notes. Clear the search and filters first to export everything. |
| Everything | Your account page → Your data → Download my data | JSON (card-vault-export.json) | Your account details, collection, wish list, settings, favorites, Showcase order and each card's eBay price data. |
A spreadsheet export can be imported into most collection tools, or back into Card Cabinet with Import.
Restoring a backup
Choose the upload button at the top of the app (or More → Restore from a backup) and pick a backup file. Card Cabinet tells you how many cards are in the file and asks before it replaces your current collection.
Deleting your account
On your account page, scroll to Delete account and choose Delete my account. Card Cabinet asks for your password (or, if you sign in with Google, for your email address) and then for a final confirmation.
Deleting removes, at once and for good:
- your account, email address and sign-in
- your collection, wish list, goals, notes and price history
- your card photos and their fingerprints
- your saved eBay and Claude keys
- your binder link
- your usage counts
It can't be undone, so download a backup first if you might want your cards later. Corrections you made to shared checklists stay in the library for everyone; they never showed your name or email. Shared price records for a card don't say who owned it, so nothing there points back to you.
If you added your own keys, you may also want to delete them at eBay and Anthropic.
